Two days ago, NeetoForm had its product hunt launch. This was the second product launched by Neeto. On July 18, 2023, we launched NeetoCal. After the launch of NeetoCal, we wrote a blog about how we think NeetoCal is a commodity. Here is a hacker news discussion on that blog.

We feel that just like NeetoCal, NeetoForm is also a commodity product. Here is the list of competitors of NeetoForm that we know of.

  1. typeform

  2. Fillout

  3. Reform

  4. Formspark

  5. QuestionScout

  6. Formium

  7. Formstack

  8. Jotform

  9. QuestionPro

  10. NativeForms

  11. Formbricks

  12. Paperform

  13. formsite

  14. tally

  15. ZohoForms

  16. duonut

  17. RapidForms

  18. Youform

  19. MakeForms

In spite of the intense competition, we feel that the pricing of these forms doesn’t reflect that these are commodity products. That’s what NeetoForm would be competing on - price. We will attempt to bring downward pressure on the price.

We are not the only one feeling that commodity products are priced exorbitantly high. once.com is trying to solve this problem by walking away from the saas model altogether.

We understand that building and maintaining software costs money. At BigBinary, we have been building software for our clients for 12+ years now. However, we see that the cost of the software is not fully aligned with the value it provides.

Since NeetoForm is a commodity, making money would be tough. That's the literal definition of a commodity product. However, we do see a silver lining.

See, most of the forms do an excellent job of data collection. Taking action on the data is left to other applications. This is where Zapier and make come in.

At NeetoForm, we want to help our clients "take action" on that data. It could be as simple as sending an email or as complicated as building a workflow. This work of taking action on the data is anything but a commodity. This would require no-code/low-code type of work so that clients can do the work necessary.

Currently, some of our clients gather the data using webhooks and then build custom applications for their needs. This requires a lot of development work. This is the area NeetoForm wants to go into. NeetoForm will try to build tools so that you don't have to develop yourself. Building these tools won't be easy, but we must take up high-value work to elevate ourselves from the commodity work.

We are happy with the way things have progressed at NeetoForm so far. Now, we would be spending more energy on building the "take action" part so that you can make your data do meaningful things.

Next month's product hunt launch will be NeetoRecord, a loom alternative. We are giving the finishing touches to neetoRecord, but you can use it today.

PS: If you are currently using any form and after the data collection you need to do extra work to make the data bring business value, then please send an email to [email protected] mentioning what kind of work you would like NeetoForm to take off of your plate.
